Remove Orange Glo and Mop and Glo film and wax from your floors!

I can help you fix your floors after wrecking them with Mop and Glo and Orange Glo.  It is not well known, but Mop and Glo and Orange Glo can make your floors look horrible after putting them on by leaving a sticky white film all over your floors.  Here’s a few pictures of the before and after of my floor:

Before

After

Orange Glo and Mop and Glo Do Not Deliver What They Promised!

Here’s what the folks at Orange Glo / Mop and Glo promised you::

“MOP & GLO Wood Floor Cleaner gives you beautiful shine for your wood floors in a quick, convenient one-step process. MOP & GLO Wood Floor Cleaner is safe for all sealed wood floors…”

“Orange Glo leaves no oily or waxy residue on surfaces after use.”

But it’s not the truth!

After you applied the Mop and Glo or Orange Glo, you had a problem. Your floors looked looked milky, white, and dull. Mop and Glo and Orange Glo are synthetic waxes that make your real or engineered wood floors (such as Pergo, Armstrong or other laminated floors), slate, tile or linoleum look horrible and feel sticky. It can even damage your floors permanently.

Little did you know that Mop and Glo and Orange Glo can leave a sticky white film after application on wood floors, especially on engineered or laminate floors like Pergo, or Armstrong.

  1. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! This really worked to remove orange glo from my floors! I thought they were completely ruined by orange glo, but you saved me!!!!

  2. I used orange glo on my new Brazilian hardwood laminate floors. After I used it it really settled out into a dull shine, kind of like a white film — exactly what’s described here. What’s my best shot for getting it off?

  3. My cleaning lady used orange glo all over my new hardwood floors. As a result, she left a bunch of white streaks that I found impossible to get off. I was able to use john’s method to clean off my floors - it took some elbow grease but I got it done! Back to normal!

  4. I thought my husband was going to kill me! My floors were an absolute mess! I didn’t know how to get the wax left by orange glo off! I thought I tried everything, but then I tried John’s instructions, and I was able to clean my floors and get the orange glo off of them in no time flat. Like Betty says - it does take a bit of work - but it was really worth it and I would have never thought of it myself!!!

    Thank you John!!!!

  5. I almost had a heart attack when I saw what Orange Glo did to my floors. I think Orange Glo should be BANNED!!! All those Orange Glo TV commercials make you think the product is so wonderful, but they don’t tell you Orange Glo can ruin your floors. I searched forever for a remedy for my floor problem, and this finally helped me. Good luck everybody - I hope they take the Orange Glo scam off the market!

  6. Orange glo wax is such a problem. Orange glo left streaks all over my floor. I didn’t know how to remove orange glo wax but thankfully I stumbled on this place. Good luck ladies!

  7. Does this method help to remove Mop and Glo and remove Orange Glo? I used both of them on my floors and and I’d love to find a solution to getting that white film off! Thanks!

  8. I used orange glow and had a disaster. Thanks for helping remove the stains off my floor!

  9. Denise - yes it does, absolutely! It should be able to remove orange glo and mop and glo from your floors. I’ve had great success with it!

  10. My story — I had put in beautiful, brand new, rosewood laminate floors in my kitchen. It cost me lots of $$$$ to put those new floors in, so I was sure planning to take care of them. The first couple months went fine, shined them with a wet mop and they looked like new. But we hired a new cleaning service and they decided to “improve” our floors by using a whole bunch of Mop and Glo “to give them a shine”. Well, you know the rest of the story. Orange Glo left a thin white film all over my floors. It looked like wax and I could not get it off. I tried all the cleaning products in my closet but I could not remove Orange glo easily until I tried this method. It is simple but it works!

    Good luck all!

  11. Has anybody tried the magic eraser to remove the orange glo? I tried that and it seemed to work OK to remove orange glo. It was very slow, so I switched to this method and I was able to get the orange glo off a lot faster.

  12. Yes - I tried the magic eraser also, but I couldn’t get any good results to remove orange glo from my wood floors. Orange glo left white streaks everywhere. Any other thoughts?

  13. I tried a vinegar solution to try and get orange glo film off my floors, and it didn’t seem to work either. I finally broke down and tried this method on this site and it worked great for me! It takes some work to get off, folks, no doubt about that, but it can be done! Thank The Lord - I thought my floors were ruined from Orange Glo! Well worth the $5 for the cleaning tips (much cheaper than even buying some special cleaning product from Home Depot.)

  14. Hi Karen - yes the vinegar solution that some have suggested does work on some stains, but does not help get the streaks of mop and glo or orange glo off wood floors. The especially is true for the laminate floors - it already has polyurethane on it, so adding glo products on top does NOT help matters. It will only make a huge mess of white streaks and film.

  15. I had a real problem getting orange glo off my hardwood floors. I agree with all the comments above — Orange glo cleaner should be banned! Orange glo film really made my floors look dull, and I had just had them refinished! My contractor told me I was going to have to have them completely sanded down and refinished - $2000 job - but I was able to take clean off the orange glo myself and save all the money! I already had Windex in the house - so I could do it right away!

  16. Orange glo left white streaks all over my floors. I thought it was a $3,000 loss! I worked hours and hours to get that orange glo mess off - contractors came in and told me it was going to be $1k to refinish the floors. I finally tried this solution after trying everything else (including magic sponge, vinegar, etc.) This solution worked like a charm (though I still had to sweat!) Good luck everybody!

  17. I thought I was never going to be able to remove the orange glo that was all over my floors! I spent hours cleaning and cleaning my wood floors, but there will still streaks and wax all over them from the orange glo cleaner. The tips that are in this guide were very helpful to me in helping me to finally remove all the orange glo that was covering my new wood floors. It takes some work but it does get the orange glo off with good success.
